Tessa Hoenig is a ceramic sculptor and illustrator dedicated to creating objects that feel abundant, textural, and overwhelming, physical dreamscapes of her overactive imagination. Originally from Fort Collins, Colorado, Tessa obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Pottery in 2020 from Colorado State University. After graduating, she moved to Missoula, Montana and is currently working as a Post-Baccalaureate student at The University of Montana. Tessa Hoeing was heavily influenced by a family who was collectively intrigued by the process of building with one’s hands. This prompted her to discover an interest in handmade objects. Artistic objects, especially those made of clay, are often considered nonessential when it is possible to buy a cheaper, mass-produced version so easily. These standardized objects sometimes lack the unique personality that handmade mugs carry. Tessa implores everyone to rediscover the beauty in the objects they use everyday and to surround themselves with objects that are unique, each having an identity, and each possessing the presence of human touch. These mugs are both microwave and dishwasher safe.
